Our Pastor

Rev. Mark Duer has accepted the call to be our Pastor along with our sister congregation Zion in Lyons, IL.

Pastor Duer grew up in a small town north of Lincoln, Nebraska.  During his Junior year in High School, he joined the Army Reserve.  After he completed his required training for the Army, he attended college and graduated with a B.S. in Criminal Justice.  He served in the first Gulf War, Operation Desert Storm/Shield as a Military Police Officer in charge of POW's.  The next 12 years he worked in sales and customer service. 

Pastor Duer served at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Pensacola, Florida during his vicarage in 2007-2008.
He graduated in 2009 from the Fort Wayne Seminary with a Master of Divinity. His first call was to Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer in Cushing, Oklahoma in 2009.  He has also served as a vacancy Pastor at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Wellston, Oklahoma since April 2013. 

Pastor Duer enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking, sightseeing and traveling.  He enjoys sports, reading, golfing and volunteering in the community.
